A helicopter isn't just for sightseeing. Across the vast, roadless properties of Cape York, it's one of the most effective tools a land manager has — for burning country at the right time, mapping what's growing where, moving stock, and getting the shot. Here's the commercial work we do.
Land management
Aerial incendiary burning
An aircraft equipped with an aerial ignition device, used in bushfire management and land clearing. The helicopter drops small, chemical-filled capsules — often called "ping pong balls" or "dragon eggs" — onto the ground to safely start controlled, prescribed burns or back burning in country that's otherwise impossible to reach.
Managed correctly, fire is the most powerful tool there is out here — and helicopter-delivered ignition is the only practical way to apply it across this terrain.
