Cape York Circuit
Camp like an expedition. Sleep like it isn't one.
Trailer your boat to Marina Plains, launch, and run the coast as far and as hard as the day allows. Each evening we fly you back to a hot shower, an air-conditioned bed and a cold beer at Musgrave Roadhouse — then back out at dawn with fuel, ice, bait and beer.
The idea
Go remote without roughing it
Most boat trips up the Cape come down to a choice: go remote and rough it, or stay close and stay comfortable. This is neither. Push your boat as far up the coast as the day allows — explore, fish, anchor wherever looks good. At last light, the chopper picks you up off the beach or island and has you at Musgrave before the mozzies get serious. No tent. No long-life food. No carrying drums of fuel up a beach.

Marina Plains
Trailer it in, launch it, leave the rest to us
Launch at Marina Plains, leave the trailer, and run north along the east coast — Princess Charlotte Bay through to Portland Roads — at whatever pace you choose.
- Bring your own boat, gear and the plan
- Beach, sandbar, island or river mouth — if you can park the boat, we can land near it
- Tell us roughly where you'll be each evening, or just call it in on the day
- The further you push, the longer the flight home — that's the only thing that changes
The route
One launch point. As many nights as you like.
Launch at Marina Plains and run the coast — Princess Charlotte Bay through to Portland Roads — through as many overnight anchorages as you want. Every night, the chopper shuttles you back to base at Musgrave Roadhouse.
Your boat's routeFrom Marina Plains, as far up the coast as you want to push it. Numbers 1–6 are example overnight anchorages — pick as few or as many as you like.
Nightly helicopter shuttleWherever you stop, the chopper meets you there and flies you back to base. The flight just gets a little longer the further out you are.
Musgrave RoadhouseYour base camp. Hot shower, AC room, dinner and a beer, every single night of the trip.

The country you'll cover — Cape York's east coast.

Run the coast
Fish the reefs, explore the river mouths, push further or stay put — entirely your call.
Anchor up
Pull in wherever the day ends. Mark the spot — that's where the chopper will find you.
Back to base
A short flight to Musgrave Roadhouse: hot shower, AC room, dinner, cold beer, real bed.
